Crafter’s Companion launches new Sharon Callis collection

Crafter’s Companion has teamed up with Irish designer, Sharon Callis, for a series of brand-new papercraft collections.

Sharon has worked with Crafter’s Companion for a total of five years. This is the first time she has collaborated with the craft retailer as a designer and, in addition to her own brand launches, she will also work on some of the company’s core ranges.

Sharon’s inspiration for the launches comes from the different seasons, everyday life and life’s golden moments. People can also expect to see her love for florals and nature in the ranges, as well as a versatile mix of colour palettes and design variations.

As a young girl, Sharon quickly became passionate about sewing, knitting, and handicrafts. During school, she would make her own clothes, provide clothes alterations for friends, and started taking professional courses to develop her needlecraft and dressmaking skills.

Although her passion for craft started with sewing and needlecraft, in 2010, Sharon discovered cardmaking and scrapbooking, and won the ‘Cardmaker of the Year’ for the UK in 2011. Since then, Sharon has worked in design for a number of well-known brands in the UK and USA, launched her own brand in 2016, and has demonstrated on Hochanda and Create and Craft.

Sharon said:I love exploring how the pieces I create will work in a finished craft project and expanding the range around that core inspiration. I am super thrilled and excited to be launching my new ranges with Crafter’s Companion. It’s been like a homecoming!

“Bringing my own brands inhouse feels like a natural step for me and also being involved in designing some ranges for Crafter’s Companion is a dream come true. I can’t wait to share my concepts, designs and future innovations with the amazing Crafter’s Companion community.”

Sara Davies MBE said: “I’m such a big fan of Sharon’s and beyond thrilled that she is joining us as a designer. I know that people will love her collections and I can’t wait for people to see what she has created.”

Sharon’s first Crafter’s Companion collection, Butterflies and Blooms, will be available early October.
