Spotlight on Creative Professional

Spotlight On – Mixed Up Creative Academy

Business Name: Mixed Up Creative Academy
Contact Name: Katy Leitch
Established: 2016 (originally, under the name Mixed Up)

Why I started the business: I had to leave my job for health reasons and started looking at ways I could work for myself in a more flexible way. As I used to be a magazine editor, that seemed a logical start, and Mixed Up originally began as an online magazine. Soon it morphed into a subscription service for tutorials and now a fully-fledged, purpose built classroom where we offer beautifully presented mixed media and art journaling courses at affordable prices.

What product categories you sell: Online courses, workshops and schools, focussing on mixed media and art journaling disciplines.

For customers: Wellspring is our signature course, all about using art to aid mental wellness. It’s currently on offer at an early bird price with 15 bonus lessons free when purchased before 19th April. We have an upcoming collaboration with WOW! Embossing Powder due out on 10th April: this contains three exclusive tutorials using WOW! products and is free of charge.

For self-employed art/craft tutors: I am presently working on a hosting package for tutors who cannot presently teach in person but would like to offer paid courses online. Tutors will be able to host their material via my site for no up-front cost and without any technical knowledge. I can be contacted about this by email – I can be reached at katy@mixedupcreative.com.

Delivery Times: Instant – courses are accessed via the website immediately upon payment.
