The first world Scrapbooking champions come from India and from Germany

The winners of the title of world champion in the creative art of Scrapbooking are the Indian Apexa Nagar in the Pro Division and the German Olga Kolov in the Hobbyist Division.

Olga Kolov won the title of World Scrapbooking Champion for the Division Hobbyist with her work “Moment of Life”, crafted using the Mixed Media technique. What convinced the judges was Olga’s technique and the harmony of her project. She is followed by the British Katarzyna Ewa Blakala (“With all my heart” – mixed media) and the Brazilian Luciana Fatima Warnowski (“Love” – mixed media).

The fourth place goes to the Italian Cristina Moriggi, followed by Claudia Guilhas from South Africa, Sandra Erdmann (Germany), Cathryn Ledger (Canada), Christina Sedor (Canada), Candida Lorusso (Italy), Einav Mordechay Noam (Israel) Olga Kolov, newly-proclaimed champion of the Hobbyist world, had the chance to compete against the Pros, taking an excellent fourth place.

World Champion Pro Project

Apexa Nagar celebrates her victory of the World title for the Pro Division. The professional Indian scrapper, overcame her opponents with the project “The only key to Success” (mixed media). According to the judges, her work exceeded all the others under all the following evaluation criteria: presentation, technique, creativity, harmony.
The jury was chaired by Elena Consonni, Creative Director of the Academy, and made up by Alexandra Stapleton-Smith (USA/UK), Nuria Cuixart Mestres (Spain) and Barbara Schiassi “Barbarayaya” (Italy). According to the jury, it was much harder to award the winning positions in the Pro Division due to the extremely high level and quality of the submitted projects.

In the end, the second place was won by another Indian scrapper, Monica Shukla: with her project “Treasured memories” (mixed media) she exceeded the third classified Rikki Graziani from Australia (“Christmas” clean & simple) by a small margin.

As already mentioned, Olga Kolov reaches the fourth place, followed by Karla Zara Ramirez Montenegro from Peru, Monika Sadowska (Poland), Sandra Dry (UK), Erin Short (USA). In addition to their trophy, the two new World Champions will receive a personalised handcrafted hat from Busto and Sun. All the finalists will receive the medal and the official apron of the competition and products of our sponsors. The Academy is already working on the second edition and will soon reveal new surprises… that of scrapbooking world champion will not be the only title awarded in the future.
